In a tragic turn of events in Barrow County, two lives have been claimed in a bloody triple shooting. The Barrow County Sheriff's Office has confirmed the fatalities as 64-year-old Michael Alan Alvold and 66-year-old Susan Denise Arvold. The incident took place in the quiet residential area of Kendall Park Drive in Winder on Feb. 8.
Cody Donavan Jones, 35, the identified suspect and apparent son of the deceased, currently under guard in hospital due to injuries from the incident, is set to face malice murder charges. According to a report by WSBTV, Jones was the one who made the initial 911 call but authorities have yet to publicly confirm his relationship to the victims.
Neighbors have repeatedly expressed concern about Jones' erratic behavior. As acquired by FOX 5, one nearby resident claimed to be not shocked by the shocking violence, referencing past occurrences of Jones' odd actions, such as wandering in cold weather clad only in shorts and without shoes.
In a previous incident, Jones had attacked his stepfather with a knife due to animosity last May, and he was later indicted for aggravated assault and weapon possession charges, as reported by FOX 5. Post-attack, a bond was posted and Jones was remanded to a mental health facility for 45 days, although the current status of that case remains unclear.
The investigation of the recent shooting is still in progress, and further details are expected to be unveiled as the authorities dig deeper into the harrowing case.
