MILTON, Ga. — Over the weekend, Milton's annual Community Egg Hunt drew an estimated crowd of 6,000 egg-citement seekers from kids to parents, all basking in the spring sunshine at Cambridge High School's football field. The event, organized with support from Stonecreek Church, packed a wide array of attractions, from the classic egg hunt to rock climbing, according to a statement released by the city.

Patterned for inclusivity, the event catered to sensory-sensitive children with an early egg hunt before the thrumming excitement of the crowd pressed in. This considerate gesture ensured that every participant, regardless of their sensory processing preferences, could enjoy the thrill of the hunt. “Hunts for candy-filled eggs highlighted Saturday’s festivities for many,” reported the city's news release. Even those kids who came up a bit short in the scramble for eggs weren’t left out — organizers handed out extra eggs ensuring that none went home empty-handed.

Beyond the egg hunts, the afternoon was abuzz with family-friendly activities. Giant inflatables dominated the end zones of the field, with one tailored for the tiny tots and the other for the bigger kids to bounce about. Meanwhile, adrenalin seekers tackled a rock-climbing wall and others sported new looks with face painting. The scene was lively with balloon animals and rocked to a family-friendly beat, as per Milton's announcement.

The festivity spilled over into a nearby parking lot that transformed into a ‘Mini Touch-a-Truck’ exhibit, where attendees explored service vehicles, including a Milton fire engine and police patrol car. The young and young at heart queued at the food trucks for treats like shaved ice and cotton candy. Adding to the carnival-like atmosphere, the Easter Bunny made the rounds, posing for pictures with a swarm of fans.

The City of Milton extended heartfelt thanks to Stonecreek Church and other sponsors who made the egg-stravaganza possible. Gratitude was also offered to the thousands who attended, helping to create cherished memories. As the city’s press release warmed, “And most of all, we want to thank everyone who came to the Cambridge High field to make some memories and make this event a success.” With this year's hunt wrapped up, the community looks forward to next year’s gathering with great anticipation.
