An Adelanto man with a past history of soliciting minors has been caught in the act once again. Robert Brian Ciauri, 50, was apprehended on Sunday after arranging a meeting for sexual relations with whom he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, Ciauri was arrested in August of 2023 under similar circumstances involving a 14-year-old girl. Despite the prior incident, it didn't deter him from committing the same offense again, as deputies caught him arriving at the predetermined location in Adelanto—one set for a sinister rendezvous.
As fate would have it, waiting deputies took Ciauri into custody at the intersection of Bellflower Street and Villa Street. Soon after the arrest, he was taken to a local hospital due to a medical condition, and a new criminal report was set to reach the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
This disturbing repeat offense has prompted authorities to consider the presence of other potential victims. Deputy C. Padilla from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, whose contact details have been released, is leading the call for information. In a plea for justice, the community is urged to come forward with any information related to interactions with Ciauri, which could be crucial in painting the full scope of his dealings.
The case, now documented as No. 242301805 / 242400553, raises severe concerns over the repeat nature of such crimes and the safety of the community's children. Anonymous tips can be submitted through We-Tip at 800-78CRIME or their website. San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus has overseen the release of the formal report, seeking a collaborative effort to ensure the safety of minors in the region and hold perpetrators accountable.
