The Antioch Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in the case of a stolen vehicle that was later discarded near the intersection of East 6th Street and 'A' Street. Surveillance footage captured the suspect committing the brazen auto theft and abandoning the car. The department has turned to social media to amplify its request for tips that could lead to the apprehension of the individual responsible.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the suspect's identity to step forward, offering the potential for those who provide tips to remain under the safety of anonymity. According to a recent Facebook post by the Antioch Police, the suspect was recorded on video stealing the vehicle before dumping it and casually walking away from the crime scene. Community Service Officer Collazo is spearheading the search, requesting that anyone with knowledge about the case to get in touch by calling (925) 778-2441 or by email at [email protected], referencing case #24-1991.
The vehicle’s recovery could have easily gone unnoticed, if not for vigilant community members and the diligence of police efforts to obtain and release video evidence quickly.
While the Facebook post did not provide specific details about the stolen vehicle or the exact time of the theft, the visibility of the suspect on the surveillance video may prove to be the break needed to solve the case.
