
A tense standoff unfolded in Harbor City, Los Angeles after police were called to a scene where a man, who was possibly armed, barricaded himself inside a home following a domestic violence report. The incident, which began around 9 a.m. Tuesday on the 26200 block of President Avenue, saw SWAT teams and police helicopters responding to the potentially volatile situation.
According to NBC Los Angeles, officers did not face gunfire, however, several shots were reportedly fired inside the residence but not at law enforcement. Authorities directed traffic away from the area as negotiations continued into the early afternoon, as the standoff with the alleged domestic violence suspect carried on, with no injuries having been reported.

The CBS News Los Angeles reported a significant police presence was visible in the Harbor City neighborhood, including aerial assistance from an LAPD helicopter.
Meanwhile, the details surrounding the initial domestic violence call remain sparse. Detective Aguilar of the Los Angeles Police Department did not provide information on the suspect's identity, "although they did not think the shooter was aiming at them," KTLA reported. The suspect is believed to have been alone in the home at the time of the standoff, and the community watched, waited, and hoped for a peaceful resolution.
