
A shooting at an Athens mobile home park has left one child dead and two other people wounded, local authorities reported. The violent episode unfolded at the Hallmark Mobile Home Park on Spring Valley Road last Friday, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Approximately at 5:37 p.m., police received calls reporting gunfire within the trailer community, Fox5Atlanta confirmed. In the incident, involving children, it was two of them along with an adult were struck by bullets. Declared dead at the scene was one of the vulnerable young lives.
Surviving the onslaught, the second child and the adult were transported to an area hospital suffering from injuries deemed non-life-threatening, as per law enforcement updates. Little information about the victims or the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been disclosed as officials continue to piece together this tragic event.
With the assailant or assailants still at large, the authorities have made a public appeal for help. Plunging the trailer park community into a nightmare, a senseless act ended fatally for a young soul on what began as an unremarkable Friday. A reward of up to $1,000 has been offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to an arrest, announced Atlanta News First.
