Flames and smoke erupted from the windows of an east Austin home yesterday, prompting an urgent response from the Austin Fire Department. The call came in for a structure fire off Clermont Avenue, sandwiched between the N I-35 Service Road and Waller Street, as reported by CBS Austin.

The blaze, which was visible to bystanders reporting plumes of smoke and bursts of flame, was swiftly extinguished by the fire crews. Following the suppression of the fire, the department’s focus shifted to ensuring no further flare-ups and conducting searches within the home for any occupants. Concerns of a person possibly trapped inside cast an underlying urgency to the after-fire operations. While the fire raged, locals were urged to steer clear of the area.
