A routine Saturday night turned deadly when the Austin Police Department responded to a shooting at a Wickersham Lane apartment, resulting in the city's 14th homicide this year.

According to reports, officers were called to the 2200 block of Wickersham Lane after a disturbance call at 9:39 p.m., on March 23, they found Christopher Rodriguez with a gunshot wound, desperate lifesaving efforts failed, and Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene, the suspect, Adam Brown, didn't flee but was instead detained by the police at the site.

Witnesses and crime scene specialists swarmed the area as detectives tried piecing together the events that spiraled into Brown reportedly shooting Rodriguez after an argument escalated. An arrest soon followed with Brown facing first-degree murder charges.
