
The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office confirmed the heart-wrenching conclusion to a week-long search, announcing the discovery of 17-year-old Henry Murillo's body in the coastal waters near Quintana, Texas, after the teen vanished while swimming at Surfside Beach on March 16, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
Henry Murillo's final dip in the waters took a tragic turn for the worse, the teenager had been enjoying what was supposed to be the last weekend of Spring Break with his family and in their preparation to leave, he decided to take one more swim his brother Jorge Medina, 13, recounted to FOX 26 Houston the harrowing moment when he realized they were in trouble saying "At one point, I stopped, and I told him to come back, at that point, he couldn't even feel the sand anymore, and then he said, "I'm drowning, come help me." I couldn't feel the sand under my feet no more either, I tried to grab my brother's hand, but a big wave came and separated us."
On Thursday, the somber news broke when local law enforcement found the body confirming it to be that of the missing teenager, the recovery operation was extended with volunteers and various agencies lending their support to the family in distress, this, coupled with the local Surfside Beach community came together, providing aid and resources in the search efforts as disclosed by Click2Houston.
