An officer on a paid detail at a Downtown Boston address made a collar yesterday, nabbing a 27-year-old man for allegedly sneaking into a restricted area and packing some heavy hardware. The suspect, Jaekwon Taylor of Roxbury, was slapped with charges including trespassing and unlawfully toting a weapon, according to the Boston Police Department.
The incident unfolded around noon at 450 Washington Street when Asset Protection staff tipped the officer to check the basement, an area off-limits to the public. The cop encountered Taylor, and a subsequent frisk turned up black brass knuckles and a can of pepper spray, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
Following the find, the suspect was hauled off to the station. The Boston Police Department's report states that Taylor is now facing charges for having a dangerous weapon on him without a lawful excuse and for barging into a restricted area of the building.
Taylor's issues are mounting as he's expected to stand before a judge to answer to the charges. His arraignment is slated for Boston Municipal Court, setting the stage for a legal showdown in Beantown's justice system.
