A routine traffic stop in Brentwood on Sunday night turned up more than just traffic violations when officers discovered a loaded, un-serialized high-capacity firearm in the vehicle's backseat, police said.
According to the Brentwood Police Department's Facebook page, the encounter occurred at the junction of Lone Tree Way and Fairside Way. The vehicle's occupants, identified as 19-year-old Daekaylah Little and 20-year-old Louis Quinn, both of Antioch, were arrested following the discovery.
The officer initiated the stop after observing multiple violations of vehicle code, which escalated promptly following the recovery of the firearm. Little and Quinn now face charges as they were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
