Government wheels keep turning in Morrison County with a week full of commissioner meetings, spanning the spectrum from emergency services to environmental concerns. A public notice released details the schedule for the Morrison County Board of Commissioners and where these public officials will be making appearances from March 24th to March 30th.
Starting the week, on March 25th, members attended the Statewide Emergency Communications Board (SECB) Planning at City Hall, St. Cloud. Officials kept the ball rolling on March 26th with a 9:00 am Board Meeting in the County Board Room at the Government Center in Little Falls. Morrison has got its virtual meeting game together, too – information on how to join the TEAMS meetings is available on their website for those who prefer to tune in from afar.
The intense schedule features back-to-back sessions on March 27th, tackling Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) matters and convening the Executive Committee Meeting, all before breaking for lunch. In the afternoon, emergency services took the spotlight with the board gathering once again at City Hall for important discussions.
Not slowing down, the commissioners intended to go online for a SECB Meeting on March 28th and a follow-up with a Conference Advisory Group, sharing expertise and trying to carve out future directives. Before day's end, the Rum River Watershed managers met up at the Mille Lacs Courthouse in Milaca, showing their determination to protect and manage local water resources. The week was rounded off with a nod to regional collaboration as members joined the Region 5 Sourcewell meeting in Staples, signifying how far-reaching these meetings spanned.
Morrison County is showing no signs of letting up with two more meetings on March 29th, starting the day with soil and water under discussion at the Soil and Water Conservation District office. They planned to close out the weekly marathon with a Central MN Emergency Medical Services Joint Powers Board (CMEMS JPB) Meeting, maintaining the communal thread of health and safety.
Inclusion is on the agenda, too. To ensure everyone can participate, accommodations can be arranged for those who need them by contacting the number provided at least 48 hours in advance. It's a clear signal from the county authorities that engaging with the community is a priority, and nobody should be left out of the conversation because of a disability or need for assistance. Just another week in the life of Morrison County's movers and shakers.
