A Cobb County woman has been detained after a tense standoff with law enforcement on Wednesday, per authorities. The incident occurred in the Silverton neighborhood off of Riverside Pkwy, when deputies attempted to serve a temporary protective order. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the woman ran upstairs upon the deputies' arrival, barricading herself in a bedroom, and brandished the threat of a firearm.
The standoff necessitated, the intervention of both Cobb County Police and SWAT teams to manage the situation. After negotiations failed to coax her out, officers breached the bedroom door to secure her detainment.
