A weekend search spearheaded by the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station resulted in the successful location and return of three missing children in two separate incidents, officials reported on Monday. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office lauded the community's critical role in the successful recoveries.

On Saturday, a teenage girl left her Adelanto home in a fit of distress over school disciplinary actions, taking her younger sister along. Essential to the search was San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Casey Allen and her K-9 Nyx, who tracked the girls using advanced techniques. A rapid notification service, A Child Is Missing (ACIM), aided in blanketing the area with urgent alerts. According to the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station, the girls were ultimately found safe and sound.

Another case the following day involved a 12-year-old autistic boy from Apple Valley who vanished on his bike without a known destination. Deputy G. Jasso and K-9 Keva, also from Rancho Cucamonga, along with the California Highway Patrol Aviation Division, joined the search. Helpful tips from locals, including a Target customer who spotted the boy after seeing his image on the Ring Camera System, led to his safe return.

The outpouring of community engagement and modern tech played a pivotal role in the happy endings. Sheriff Shannon D. Dicus expressed gratitude to all those who contributed. "Because we all worked together, we were able to locate them and return them home," Dicus stated, emphasizing the collective effort's success.
