The week three surge in the South Shore Community Action Council March Mania Food Drive has seen the Plymouth County Correctional Facility (PCCF) lobbing a substantial amount of donations into the charitable fray. Supporters are making an impressive contribution, standing tall against competitor Rockland Trust in what could only be described as a close race, according to the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department.
"There is a full-court press and when we call in our number of items donated on Friday morning we are going to be proud of the effort put forward," the PCCF announced, arguably eyeing a slam dunk in their charitable goals. In the mix of sought-after donations, they get extra points for canned pasta, such as ravioli, and canned fruit, adding a strategic play to their food donation game plan.
Community members are encouraged to participate in this competitive act of kindness by dropping off their donations at multiple collection points, including the guard shack at 24 Long Pond Rd., Plymouth, the Admin Lobby, and the employee entrance in the jail. The avid push for contributions is poised to support local families and individuals facing food insecurity, indicating a shared victory with every can and carton collected, as per the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department.
"Keep the donations coming!" the PCCF cheers on, firing up support among Plymouth residents and employees – feeding not just the hungry but the spirit of the community. Complete with enthusiastic community backing, as noted by the PCCF's call to action, the drive's high-spirited engagement highlights the collective resolve to tackle hunger head-on, even as the competitive fun spices up the serious cause.
