A pair of convicted felons were cuffed in Texas after a routine traffic stop turned into a bust involving a trove of stolen credit cards and personal information. Constable Mark Herman's deputies pulled over a vehicle linked to a former mail theft case on March 1, whereupon the occupants attempted to dupe the officers with fake names and birth dates.

Deputies were soon able to uncover the true identities of the fraudsters as Donavon Savoie and Kayla Matthews. Savoie, at the time was out on a hefty $25,000 bond related to a charge of Unauthorized Absence from Community Corrections Facility. During the extensive search of the vehicle, law enforcement found a deluge of illicit materials – including 77 credit cards, mail evidently swiped from 81 different addresses, an array of bogus temporary Texas Driver’s Licenses, checks, and other personal identification items.

Authorities confirmed the arrests and subsequent charges. "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information and Tampering with a Government Document," as spelt by Constable Mark Herman on his office's Facebook page. Savoie's bond was immediately set at $50,000.00, with Matthews' a bit less at $40,000.00, both doled out by the 248th District Court.

Their upcoming court appearances have not been publicly scheduled, as they continue to be held in custody. Constable Herman emphasized, as quoted in the official Facebook post, "Donavon and Kayla will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," showcasing the vigilance of his team in apprehending such elusive criminal activity.
