Authorities encountered shades of crime hidden behind the guise of a baby's innocence at a local Sunglass Hut. On the evening of March 5, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office swooped in on a shoplifting operation where a couple allegedly stuffed over a grand's worth of sunglasses and shoes into a baby stroller. The duo, identified as Guillermo Noriega and Yunisleidy Crespo, didn't just swipe any old specs – the items were high-end name brands, as stated by Constable Herman's Facebook page.
Answering the call at the 29300 block of Northwest Fwy, the suspects were pinpointed after allegedly hitting both Sunglass Hut and a Nike store, making away with loot valued at nearly $1,400, deputies discovered the contraband neatly tucked away inside the stroller the baby was resting in, the child's innocence starkly contrasted with the concealed merchandise. Child Protective Services were promptly notified about the situation, ensuring the youngster was handed over to a responsible family member.
According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman, the accused, Noriega, and Crespo were promptly arrested and hauled off to Harris County Jail, with each of their bonds set at a seemingly lenient $100 apiece in County Court 13. Facing theft charges, their legal plight is just beginning as they navigate the consequences of their alleged actions at the Sunglass Hut.
