DC Man Charged with Assault Following Triple Stabbing in Northwest Argument

A knife-wielding man has been cuffed by DC cops for allegedly stabbing three men during a late-night argument in Northwest Washington, authorities said. Officials reported that 31-year-old Tavonte Graham Peeka, of Southeast, DC, has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The violent encounter unfolded on January 8, when an argument escalated dramatically, culminating in the suspect drawing a blade and allegedly stabbing the trio. According to the Metropolitan Police Department's statement, the altercation occurred around 12:44 a.m. on the 1900 block of 9th Street, Northwest. The victims, fortunately, only suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Following an investigation by Third District detectives, Peeka was apprehended by officers on March 14. The arrest, bringing some closure to the January incident, signals an end to a manhunt that lasted a little over two months. The attack that night had pierced the cold air with the screams of wounded men and the sharp edge of unspoken tensions snapped.
