Mesa Public Library is kicking off National Read An E-Book Week, a seven-day celebration running from March 3 to 9 that's all about embracing the digital reading revolution. Those with a Mesa library card can dive into a sea of digitized literature, scooping up downloads to their heart's content on various user-friendly devices.
E-books come as a savior - they're portable, and accessible 24/7. Mesa Public Library ensures that folks can download their next digital page-turner in the dead of night or while enduring the morning commute, the e-books are environmentally friendly as they save trees and reduce shipping waste, Mesa residents can enjoy all this and more, just by tapping away on their screens.
Take the new e-Card, launched in February 2023 and it's your golden ticket to instant access to a library of digital content including e-books, audiobooks, and even online courses.
For those hooked on Libby, Mesa's most popular e-reading app, boasting an impressive arsenal of over 297-thousand items, including books, audiobooks, digital magazines, and videos, the app is a haven for bibliophiles. Moreover, you have the whole family covered; cloudLibrary joins the fray alongside IVOX for the tots, TumbleBooks for the little guys and gals, and TeenBook Cloud for the inevitably complex teenager looking for escape in words.
It's a free-for-all if you're living in Maricopa County, working up a sweat there, paying property taxes, or hitting the books in local schools—and by free-for-all, I mean free library cards. Mesa Public Library's website is your go-to for signing up for an e-card and exploring all things literature, outlined on the mesalibrary.org.
Polly Bonnett, Mesa Library Director, says "We know many of our patrons love e-books and audiobooks, and Mesa Public Library offers access to thousands of them through our e-card and several apps."
