An ominous crackling within the walls of a Norcross apartment complex preceded an electrical fire that displaced 20 residents on Wednesday, as detailed in reports by local authorities and emergency services. Fox 5 Atlanta stated that the blaze, which originated in Forest Vale Apartments on Forest Vale Drive, was wrangled by firefighters after it climbed through wall structures into the attic space.
According to reports by Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, the fire erupted around 1:12 p.m. and despite the quick response, all four apartment units on the right side of the building sustained significant damage from the fire, which tore through walls and into the upper reaches of the structure however, the occupants were evacuated safely without any instances of injury. The unfortunate incident left 14 adults and 6 children without a home; in the aftermath, these residents are being supported by the efforts of the American Red Cross and the property management, as seen by both media outlets.
