Pack up the kids and some snacks, because the Fort Worth Public Library has teamed up with the Fort Worth Park & Recreation to bring a trifecta of alfresco story times this spring. These events are not only about reading and songs but also about engaging in activities that get the little tykes to enjoy the great outdoors, according to the City of Fort Worth.
Fort Worth families have the chance to suddenly up their picnic game three times over the next months. The first opportunity to turn story time into park time is at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at Diamond Hill Park. Following suit is the April 17 event at Thomas Place Park, also kicking off at 10 a.m., giving families a perfect reason to soak up some springtime sun. May brings a special perk; on May 15 at Log Cabin Village, there's free admission on offer for those armed with a Fort Worth Public Library card or for those who sign up for one there and then. This series promises to mix literacy with leisure in an environment that's a far cry from the usual four walls of a library.
