The streets of Los Angeles's Harbor Gateway have turned into the scene of a cold-blooded killing, as the LAPD announces the charging of four men in relation to a deadly shooting that occurred earlier this month. According to an LAPD News Release, the suspects, now in custody, include Ivan Gonzalez of Lynwood, Luis Chavez of Inglewood, Christian Castillo, and Daniel Murillo both of Gardena.

The case blew open on March 3 when gunfire erupted on the 12000 block of South Figueroa Street, leaving one man dead and another injured. The police swiftly moved to arrest 18-year-old Murillo, alleged to have pulled the trigger, charging him with murder and attempted murder. Set with bail at a whopping $3,000,000, Murillo quickly found himself behind bars with his alleged associates soon to jointly face the full force of the law. Chavez and Castillo were arrested on March 19 with the District Attorney's Office aiming to fully charge the duo for murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy. To thoroughly complete the quartet, Gonzalez was taken into custody a day later, his charges focusing on conspiracy.

The battle to serve justice took a critical turn with the DA's office filing severe charges against the four men. Caught in the crossfires of an all too familiar urban violence, Joel Villalobos was pronounced dead at the scene, while Pedro Arias survived the incident with injuries. While the LAPD has remained tight-lipped about the specifics leading to these arrests, they are calling for anyone with information to come forward, assuring anonymity for those who need it while emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in solving such heinous crimes.

The community urged to open up and help put together the pieces of what happened, can reach out to South Bureau Homicide Division detectives or use the "P3 Tips" mobile application.
