Soon after the accident, the lineman, whose name has not been released, was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later moved to a burn center at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. The accident left the lineman with substantial burns to both of his hands, although they are not considered life-threatening, as reported by WVLT.

The Greeneville Energy Authority acknowledged the event on social media, outlining the sequence of events that led to the lineman's injuries. According to WGRV, the lineman was part of a crew working to restore power in the area when the accident happened.

Following the incident, the Greeneville Energy Authority has not released any further details about the lineman's condition, apart from his injuries.
