Harris County law enforcement officials apprehended two suspects following a high-speed car chase that ended on Frasatti Way last Thursday. The chase began when deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle, but driver Jaden Reese had other plans, leading officers on a chase that would soon culminate in his arrest.
According to Constable Herman's Facebook post, their efforts to enforce the law were met with resistance as Reese refused to yield. After a short pursuit, deputies managed to stop the vehicle and detain Reese. His passenger, Temori Windham-Hill, decided to make a run for it, leading officers on foot before being discovered hiding out in a local’s backyard.
"Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Jaden Reese was charged with Evading in Motor Vehicle. His bond has not been set at this time out of the 487th District Court. Temori Windham-Hill was charged with Evading Arrest / Detention. His bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 12," reported Constable Mark Herman. The brief pursuit ended safely but serves as a reminder of the unexpected dangers law enforcement officers face on a regular basis.
The incident, which unfolded without incident, speaks to the broader narrative of the risks our police officers encounter during routine traffic stops. Both Reese and Windham-Hill now face the legal repercussions of their attempt to skirt the law. With bond set for Windham-Hill and yet to be determined for Reese, they await their day in court to answer for the charges set against them.
