A man with a penchant for trouble found himself in handcuffs after a routine traffic stop turned into a drug bust, authorities say. Brian Scott, the rider pulled over by deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office on March 5, was discovered carrying more than just his ID. An open warrant for Theft was out on Scott, and to make matters worse, he was found in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
Constable Herman's patrol deputies stopped Scott in the 20100 block of Kuykendahl Road, where an investigation quickly escalated. Scott, it turns out, held an unsavory warrant and an illegal substance; the constellation of troubles grew clearer with each passing moment. "Brian Scott was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrant and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance," according to a statement given by Constable Herman's Facebook page.
The charges against Scott are serious. In Texas, methamphetamine is considered a controlled substance due to its high potential for abuse and dependence. Possession of such substances is a criminal offense that can lead to significant jail time, and a bond of $10,000 was set for Scott as a tentative barrier between him and freedom.
