A Harrison Township woman, Sabrina Finnemore, has been charged with assault after allegedly stabbing her cousin during a recent dispute in their shared apartment. The Macomb County Sheriff's Office reported Finnemore, 34, faced arraignment last Friday on charges including assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and domestic violence.

The altercation took place last Wednesday in the Prentiss Pointe Apartments, leading to the response of deputies at approximately 4:40 p.m., where they found the victim, a 36-year-old woman, on the kitchen floor with a knife wound to her chest, as per details from a Detroit News article.

According to clickondetroit, Finnemore remained on the scene and admitted to having grabbed a knife during an argument with her cousin, although she claimed to have "no recollection of the incidents that followed."

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a recovery from the non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the incident. Finnemore, meanwhile, has posted a $100,000 bond and is awaiting further legal proceedings, Macomb Daily reports. Finnemore's lawyer, Cy Abdo, said his client "has no prior record" but refrained from further comment due to incomplete evidence. "She is scheduled for a March 18 probable-cause conference in front of Judge Jacob Femminine," Abdo explained in a statement obtained by Macomb Daily. The charges pressed against Finnemore could carry severe consequences, as attempted murder is punishable by up to life in prison.
