Chaos erupted at a Houston apartment complex late last night when a homeowner opened fire on a group he caught burglarizing his vehicle. Constable deputies swarmed the Henry Apartments on Will Clayton Parkway at around 11:55 p.m. One male suspect, struck by a bullet, was swiftly transported to the hospital for treatment.
The situation intensified when the vehicle owner, feeling threatened by one of the four suspects seemingly reaching for a weapon, discharged his gun. This action sent the suspects fleeing into the night, with deputies hot on their trail. Aided by the sharp instincts of Constable K9 Lanzo, Marcus Auguillard was bitten and subsequently apprehended.
After receiving medical attention for his injuries, Auguillard's run-in with the law didn't end with a trip to the ER. He was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, facing a charge of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, as detailed by a Facebook post by the Constable's Office.
Marcus Auguillard, now known for a failed burglary attempt and his unexpected encounter with a K9 officer, lies waiting for his bond and court date to be determined. Meanwhile, deputies are actively pursuing the remaining three suspects, their freedom dwindling as warrants for their arrest go into effect for their alleged roles in the vehicle burglary.
"Marcus Auguillard was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. His bond and court information have not been set at this time," Constable Mark Herman stated. As the investigation continues to unfold, the community remains on alert.
