
Houston police are on the hunt for clues after a man was gunned down in broad daylight last week. The homicide occurred around 2:30 p.m. Friday at the 9500 block of West Sam Houston Parkway, and as of yet, the victim's name has not been released pending identification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The investigation, led by HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective C. Vaughn, revealed that the victim was riding in the back seat of a vehicle when an altercation escalated into gunfire. According to a statement posted by the City of Houston, patrol officers reported that the male casualty had been transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle and was pronounced dead shortly after.
Witnesses have described the shooter's vehicle as a blue sedan, potentially a Hyundai or a Toyota Camry. The Houston authorities have appealed to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information to step forward and help to quickly apprehend the culprit. Thus far, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
