A woman has been nabbed and charged in connection with a deadly game of hit-and-run that took a man's life in Houston last week. Misty D. Devall, 42, faces charges for her alleged failure to stop and lend a hand after her car struck down 31-year-old Cristian Wilson, according to city officials.
The tragic incident occurred about 9:15 p.m. on March 15, when Wilson was reportedly trying to cross South Kirkwood Road – and it wasn't at an intersection. The vehicle involved was going northbound, and after the collision, it didn't stop; instead, the driver floored it and fled, Houston police detailed. Wilson was quickly rushed to the hospital by paramedics, however, doctors declared him dead, turning the case into a fatal hit-and-run.
Law enforcement traced back the incident to Devall, who now stands accused of causing Wilson’s untimely death. The arresting officers, part of the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, Sergeant J. Richards and Officer T. Pham, found the suspect’s vehicle, a red Toyota Camry with visibly damning front end damage. This discovery further implicated Devall in the sorrowful event.
Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Devall was slapped with charges. She will have to answer for her alleged actions in the 230th State District Court.
