Hutto is gearing up for the grand opening of its latest attraction, the Cottonwood Creek Brewery, as the suburb's recent population boom breathes new life into the local economy. Construction on the $5.5 million project, nestled at 610 W. U.S. Highway 79, began last October and is anticipated to wrap up by the end of 2024. The 6,500-square-foot venue will not only quench the town's thirst for craft beer but also aims to satisfy barbecue enthusiasts with a full smokehouse menu.

Owners Bobby and Stacey Delmonico, the latter being also the proprietor of Groovy Automotive, have their sights set on becoming a cornerstone in the community. "Choosing Hutto for our new brewery felt like finding a hidden gem," Stacey Delmonico stated in an email, as reported by the Austin Business Journal. With a menu boasting brisket, pulled pork, and fried macaroni and cheese, their Cottonwood Creek Brewery is also set to feature a concert venue, adding another feather to Hutto's cap.

The location of the Cottonwood Creek Brewery, a strategic choice for drawing in the masses, shares the retail center with popular stores like The Home Depot and fast-food chains such as McDonald's and Taco Bell. In close proximity, just two miles down south, the up-and-coming Olander Farms, a sprawling 90-acre mixed-use development, promises to add to the area's allure with residential, commercial, and build-to-rent facilities.

As Hutto welcomes this new brewery into its fold, the influx of investment in the suburb is unmistakable. Tesla Inc. expanding its footprint in the area and industrial developments on the horizon at the Hutto Megasite hint at a future ripe with job growth and economic boom. The burgeoning Hutto Co-Op District — already a hub with Hutto City Hall, the public library, and eateries like Top Notch Hamburgers — also braces for the addition of a sizeable office building, further cementing the suburb as a burgeoning hotspot in the Austin metro.

With nearly 100 breweries in the Austin metro, Hutto's new brewery arrival signals confidence amid concerns of market over-saturation that has seen many businesses close their doors in recent years. Yet, with census data pointing to a sharp rise in population from 27,000 in 2020 to 37,000 in 2022, as Community Impact details, the Delmonicos are brewing up what could be the perfect mix of community spirit and entrepreneurial savvy.
