A routine traffic stop turned drug bust in Monroe County, Florida, landed a couple behind bars after sheriff's deputies discovered a significant amount of crack cocaine in their car. On the evening of March 7, Danny Waye and Felicia Brown from Jacksonville, Florida, were pulled over by deputies who initially spotted a small bag of marijuana which led to a vehicle search and a larger discovery of illegal substances.
Digging deeper into the vehicle, the deputies uncovered a vacuum-sealed bag tucked under the driver's seat containing approximately half a pound of crack cocaine and two additional small bags of suspected crack cocaine lodged between the front seat and the center console, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Both individuals faced immediate arrest, with charges of trafficking cocaine brought against them, Brown is also grappling with an allegation of driving on a suspended license, an offense that adds to the gravity of the situation.
The presence of a 13-year-old child traveling with Waye and Brown during the incident has added a sobering layer to the event, the juvenile was escorted to the sheriff's office and was later collected by her mother, details 41NBC sources indicated. This unfortunate detail underscores the reach of drug activity into the family sphere, showing how the web of illicit trade does not discriminate by age or innocence.
Currently, both Danny Waye and Felicia Brown are being held in the Monroe County Jail without the possibility of bond. Further information about the case can be expected as the legal process unfolds.
