Kennesaw Police Rescue Unconscious Driver from Car in Condo Complex PoolSource: Facebook/Cobb County Police Department

In an unusual turn of events, a woman's car ended up in a swimming pool of a Kennesaw condo complex, with the driver being rescued by the police. The incident occurred on Feb. 21 at the Heritage Park Town Homes and was captured on video, which later came into public view. According to CBS17, the woman drove through a fence before her car landed in the pool, supported temporarily by a sturdy pool covering.

At around 2:30 p.m., Cobb County police responded to the scene after a 911 call reported the swimming pool plunge. "Somebody just ran through the pool fence in a car and he’s in the middle of the pool. There’s a covering over the pool, so he’s not sinking," the caller told officials, as per the police report. It remains unclear what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle, and plunge into the pool, but it was clearly a matter of luck that the pool cover held the weight of the car long enough for help to arrive.

Upon arrival, officers found the driver unconscious, trapped inside her vehicle. Video footage shows one officer knocking on the window before breaking it to access the car. The woman was safely extracted from the car and laid on the poolside, where she was given a blanket and immediate care. According to FOX5 Atlanta, the Cobb County police were able to break a back window, open a door, and retrieve the woman from her precarious position.

After the rescue, the woman was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention. Officials expect her to make a full recovery from the ordeal. The identity of the woman and further specifics about the accident have not been disclosed by the police. Meanwhile, the condo residents have been left to deal with the aftermath of a car in their pool and the resulting damage to their community's infrastructure.
