Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced yesterday that Rena Naulls faces charges following the alleged fatal attack on his girlfriend's son in their home on February 20th.
Naulls, who according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has a prior criminal record, is accused of taking the life of the toddler using a knife and also faces charges for assault on a child causing death and possession of a firearm by a felon – prior(s). Still reeling from grief, the District Attorney expressed his condolences, "My heart is broken for the toddler whose life was taken before he even had a chance to live," Gascón said. "We will pursue justice for the victim and his family with unwavering determination."
On the grim day that tore a family apart, Naulls was allegedly with his girlfriend's four children when he reportedly attacked the three-year-old boy. Scheduled for arraignment on April 24 at Antelope Valley Courthouse, Naulls awaits his legal reckoning. If convicted of the charges, the man whose cruel actions sparked a wave of anguish might find himself facing the prospect of life behind bars.
