Last night, a blaze disrupted the evening calm at Amador High School, prompting a swift response from firefighters. The alarm, triggering at 7:57 pm, brought two units of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department to a smoke-engulfed gymnasium. The arriving unit, encountering more than anticipated smoke, quickly recognized the need to upgrade and request backup.
With urgency, the Battalion Chief called for a second alarm response, a move made to quickly bring in additional fire units. According to a Facebook update by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, crews from Livermore-Pleasanton Fire and Alameda County Fire Departments converged to tackle the fire, managing to extinguish the flames after about 30 minutes of concerted effort.
Post-extinguishment, the firefighter teams remained diligently on site, scouring through the night to prevent any spread to other parts of the high school.
