Los Angeles residents can look forward to a typical mix of fog and cloud cover before the sun makes its anticipated comeback each day this week—with the exception of some rainy interruptions over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, the city of Angels is set to experience patchy morning fog before a cloudy sky gives way to clearer conditions and a high of 69 degrees today.
As evening falls, the fog is expected to roll back in, continuing the pattern of increased cloud cover and nightly lows around 52 degrees. The weather pattern appears to be locked in a somewhat persistent cycle, offering Angelenos a break from the sun's relentless shine, if only briefly in the AM hours. Friday will be a near-repeat performance of today, while the night promises more cloudiness and the same gentle, southwest zephyr cooling the streets.
The weekend, however, is forecasted to bring some precipitation, flipping the script on the usual West Coast sunshine narrative. Saturday could dampen outdoor plans with rain likely, and a 60 percent chance of precipitation threatens to deliver between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rainfall, so says the National Weather Service. The temperature is set to drop slightly to a high of 63 degrees amidst the wind and showers.
Come Saturday night, the rain risk drops to a mere 20 percent chance, maintaining mostly cloudy skies with a cooler low of 47. The same slight chance of rain persists into Sunday, yet the day is expected to be mostly sunny overall, with temperatures peaking at around 65 degrees. As the new week commences, the fog might make its customary appearance again on Tuesday night, amidst generally clear to partly cloudy conditions that could see daytime highs approaching the all-too-comfortable upper 60s.
