In a twist of events following a single vehicle crash, local authorities have nabbed a man on charges of illegal possession of drugs and a firearm. The incident took place on Champions Forest Drive, where the alleged perpetrator, identified as Kamren Cheatham, was discovered by deputies under the command of Constable Mark Herman.
According to a Facebook post issued by the Precinct 4 Constable's Office, the collision led to a probe that dug out a cocktail of controlled substances—namely 17.7 grams of Oxycodone, 24.9 grams Alprazolam, 1.9 ounces of marijuana, and an accompanying firearm. Having crashed into the clutches of the law, Cheatham's day took a nosedive into a jail cell.
"Kamren Cheatham was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying Weapon," Constable Mark Herman's office declared. The monetary guarantee for Cheatham's temporary liberty has been pegged at $7,600.00, a sum dictated by the 177th District Court and County Court 3.
It is a claim that the Harris County Jail now hosts Cheatham pending his next court appearance, as our streets witnessed the removal of both illegal drugs and weapons in a single sweep, reaffirming the ongoing battle between law enforcement and the specters of crime. His future now hinges on the scales of justice, as they deliberate over the weight of his alleged transgressions.
