
A fatal encounter Monday at a Chamblee gas station has left a 23-year-old man dead, and a suspect behind bars. Police have arrested 26-year-old Quinterius Sutton in connection with the shooting of a man reportedly asking for money.
The incident unfolded at approximately 12:35 p.m. at the QuikTrip located on Chamblee Tucker Road, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. According to the Chamblee Police Department, it took law enforcement an hour and a half to locate Sutton's vehicle in East Point, following the shooting. Sutton was then arrested and taken into custody, and is now held at the DeKalb County Jail.
Authorities have identified the deceased as Anderson Adonay-Perdomo, 23. Witnesses described a scene where Adonay-Perdomo approached various individuals near the pumps, seeking financial assistance. It was when he approached Sutton's vehicle that he was shot. The victim sustained a grave gunshot wound to the torso and later succumbed to his injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Following the arrest, Sutton, faces charges that include murder, possession of a firearm, and driving without a valid license, as stated by 11Alive. The Chamblee Police Department is still investigating the details surrounding the incident, in an effort to piece together the events that led to Adonay-Perdomo's untimely death.
