A man with an active warrant for grand theft was nabbed by cops again, this time for shoplifting at an El Cajon Target. 55-year-old Kevin Lindemann was caught with a treasure trove of stolen goods tucked away in a black trash bag when police responded to the scene at 250 Broadway on the evening of March 19, the El Cajon Police Department reported.
Despite being only a block away from the crime scene, the police quickly apprehended Lindemann, found carrying the freshly lifted merchandise. According to the El Cajon Police Department's official statement, he was also discovered to possess a small amount of methamphetamine.
Lindemann, a homeless individual with a rap sheet topped mostly by drug offenses, has now been transferred to the confines of San Diego County Jail. The police, after running records checks, connected him to an outstanding warrant for grand theft—adding yet another layer to his extensive criminal history.
“The El Cajon Police Department will use every resource available to hold criminals who commit these types of thefts accountable. Criminal acts will not be tolerated and will have consequences for those who commit them,” Chief Mike Moulton vowed in the wake of the arrest, ensuring the perpetrators like Lindemann who flee shortly after committing the crime, would not evade justice.
