Gunfire rocked a quiet Atlanta street just before 10 PM Friday, leaving a 25-year-old man wounded and searching for aid. The victim, who was not identified but confirmed to not be a student of Georgia State University, suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was later transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to Atlanta police.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that the man was conscious and breathing when help arrived, and he was alert enough to speak with authorities before he was whisked away to the hospital.
Detectives from the Aggravated Assault Unit are investigating the shooting but have yet to determine where the incident initially took place; they responded to the scene shortly after the victim was discovered, per Atlanta police reports.
