
Gunfire erupted in San Marcos in the early hours of Saturday, leaving a man injured from a bullet to the leg. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department is now on the hunt for the three hooded assailants responsible for the violence that took place just after 12:30 a.m. near Questhaven and San Elijo Roads. According to authorities, the injured party was simply walking on a trail when interrupted by the trio, who soon after fled the scene.
Residents close by were appealed for aid by the wounded man, eventually receiving transport to the hospital, where he is currently on a path to recovery. In the vicinity of where the crime occurred, detectives chanced upon a ghost gun. So far, the perpetrators have managed to elude identification by the authorities.
The San Marcos Sheriff's Station is calling upon the public for information that might lead to the capture of the shooters.
