A 19-year-old man, identified as Calvin Leon Moore Jr., has been sentenced to eight months in county jail and two years probation for his role in a strong-arm robbery that occurred in San Bruno last year. The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office released the sentence details for Moore, who, along with two accomplices, threatened and robbed a man in the parking lot of Artichoke Joe’s Casino in June of 2023

Moore, a Manteca native, and his associates, Alyssa Paradiso, 19, of Patterson, and Collin Steever, 18, of Lodi, were arrested after a dramatic police chase that ended in a dead-end street where the suspects' vehicle was cornered. According to the San Mateo Daily Journal, during the arrest, Moore was still found wearing the ski mask and holding the stolen items, which included a wallet containing $1,900 in cash and a cellphone.

The trio pleaded not guilty to felony robbery and felony evading following the incident. Moore faced an additional charge for resisting arrest. Paradiso and Steever potentially face more than five years in state prison, while Moore could receive more than six years if convicted. As reported by the DA's office, all defendants are expected back in court on July 3 for a preliminary hearing.

A statement from the District Attorney's Office highlighted the details of the apprehension, stating police pursued the vehicle for "50 miles before it went into a dead-end street and was boxed in." Inside the back seat were Moore and Steever, allegedly still trying to conceal their identities, and Paradiso at the wheel. The swift action of the authorities not only led to the capture of the accused but also allowed for the recovery of the robbed individual's belongings.
