Memphis fugitive Devin Trust, 21, was nabbed in Cedar Park, Texas, Thursday after being on the run for his alleged involvement in a cold-blooded double homicide. Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Trust at a residence on Colonial Parkway, following a multi-state manhunt spearheaded by U.S. Marshals, as reported by CBS Austin.
Trust is accused of a December shootout at a Memphis car wash that left two dead and two others critically wounded, in what was supposed to be a drug deal and firearms exchange gone wrong. An arrest affidavit detailed that the victims identified Trust and two masked accomplices, meeting them to sell marijuana and trade a gun when the suspects suddenly opened fire. One of the victims managed to shoot back, injuring Trust in the leg, genitals, and stomach, according to information obtained by FOX 7 Austin.
Surveillance footage from the tragic event caught Trust helplessly firing into the car as he fell to the ground, the documents further reveal. The Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force, after receiving a warrant for Trust on March 3 for his alleged crimes including two counts of murder and two counts of criminal attempt, called in the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to assist in the suspect's capture.
