A hit-and-run incident in Perris left a child critically injured earlier this month. Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested 29-year-old Mlouie Qutami from Menifee in connection with the crime. Qutami was located and apprehended on Hospitality Place in Murrieta following a lead received by the Perris Sheriff’s Station Traffic team on Friday, March 1, 2024.
The suspect is facing multiple charges, including hit and run resulting in injury and driving on a suspended license causing great bodily injury. Further complicating his legal troubles are three outstanding felony warrants. According to the official report, at roughly 6:36 p.m. on February 14, a juvenile was struck by a 2023 Ram 1500 near W. 3rd Street and S. C Street in Perris. Prior to hitting the child, the vehicle allegedly smashed into a parked car and fled the scene, leaving the juvenile with critical injuries.
