Police are on the hunt for three individuals involved in a midday robbery in Benning Ridge, Southeast. The Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District issued a public plea for assistance as they work to track down the culprits of the theft that left a local worker without a phone and with a tale of confrontation.
According to authorities, the incident went down on the afternoon of March 22, when the victim, toiling away at a residential property on the 4600 block of Hillside Road, SE, found the trio of suspects loafing about within the premises. The worker asked them to kindly hop it, but the request was flatly ignored. Instead, one brash suspect had the gall to not just assail the worker, but to also snatch their cell phone before they all scrammed.
The department has released details of the event to shake loose tips from the community. "The victim asked the suspects to leave, but the suspects refused. One of the suspects assaulted the victim and snatched the victim’s cellphone," announced the MPD in a statement. A stark reminder, perhaps, that the workday can abruptly turn sour in the nation's capital.
