Milpitas Police Crack Down on DUI, Drugs, and Assault in Weekend Arrest SpreeSource: Google Street View

Milpitas saw its weekend marred by a cluster of DUI arrests and drug-related infractions, shining a critical light on the ongoing battle against substance misuse. In a release posted to X by Milpitas Police, officers detailed a sequence of events that unfolded with the arrest of a 42-year-old Santa Clara woman on an existing warrant for DUI early Friday morning.

By Sunday, authorities had arrested a 30-year-old Milpitas driver after slamming into a parked car while allegedly driving drunk. Despite the early hour, sitting unoccupied at the time, the vehicle bore the brunt of an unnecessary collision, and thank goodness, sparring potential victims from injury or worse. The driver was subsequently booked on suspicion of DUI.

Further patrolling led to a second arrest on Sunday when a dayshift officer, scouring an auto-burglary-prone commercial strip, nabbed a 30-year-old Stockton resident. The individual's encounter with the law resulted in charges of narcotics influence and the possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The arrest underscored the tenacity with which Milpitas police are tackling the area's drug problem.

That same day, Milpitas officers converged by the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and arrested two individuals. Having an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for narcotics, the older suspect, a 47-year-old from Milpitas, was taken in without incident. A 19-year-old woman from Danville, armed with both meth and associated paraphernalia, compounded her day's woes with an arrest warrant already looming over her head for similar offenses.

Finishing off the weekend's illicit activities, a 27-year-old San Leandro man decided to assault a security guard at Dave and Busters after being asked to leave. The situation, fueled by heavy intoxication, escalated to a point warranting the man's arrest and subsequent booking for assault charges.
