According to Cobb County Police, the crash unfolded around 7:30 p.m. when Hardin's eastbound Suzuki ZX636 motorcycle struck a westbound Infiniti FX attempting a left turn onto Line Tree Lane, resulting in Hardin being thrown off his bike directly into an awaiting Honda CR-V the Suzuki collided with the right side of the Infiniti, the bike’s momentum sent Hardin flying before smashing into the CR-V. As reported by the Marietta Daily Journal, the Infiniti was operated by 53-year-old Jerrie Wilson of Powder Springs, and the Honda was driven by 64-year-old Susan O'Connor of Dallas, both of whom escaped the crash without injuries.

Emergency responders rushed Hardin to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.
