New Austin Hotspot Redbud Ice House to Open with Texan Flair and Exclusive Brews on Saint Patrick’s DaySource: Redbud Ice House Rendering

The Austin dining scene is poised for a fresh twist with the upcoming launch of Redbud Ice House, a casual bar promising a laid-back atmosphere with a Texan flair. The concept is a new venture from the MaieB Hospitality team, the brains behind the Southern darling Olamaie, and it's slated to open doors at 2027 Anchor Lane on March 17, as reported by Austin Eater.

Joining the venture are partners Michael Fojtasek and CEO Ben Fordham of MaieB Hospitality, Contigo Group's Andrew Wiseheart and Ben Edgerton, and the proprietors of neighborhood eatery and brewery Batch Craft Beer, Noah, and Laura Lit, the latter of whom have owned the property since 2020—the dynamic team appears to be blending a spirit of cooperation with individual expertise bringing a range of experiences to the new establishment.

The location's storied past as BBQ Ramen Tatsu-ya and before that, the iconic Contigo, bestows Redbud Ice House with a rich heritage to build upon. The redesign of the space takes inspiration from the historical Armadillo World Headquarters and the Dry Creek Cafe, aiming to retain that authentic Austin vibe. With plans to feature an expansive patio replete with picnic tables, the new design seeks to invite a casual congregation, which fits neatly with the announcement that Redbud's opening will coincide with a Saint Patrick's Day celebration, featuring a live music showcase courtesy of Spaceflight Records, reported the same Austin Eater.

"We are excited to gather a talented team who share the same vision for hospitality and what that can mean in Texas and Austin," said CEO Ben Fordham, with a simple goal to "bring people together and give them wonderful and nourishing memories," according to the statement obtained by MYSA, it’s clear that Redbud Ice House aims to become a new staple for both locals and visitors alike.
