
A deadly motorcycle accident has claimed the life of one individual in Oak Ridge, with local authorities currently delving into the investigation.
The Oak Ridge Police Department reported a motorcycle, while traveling south on South Illinois Avenue at approximately 6:13 p.m. on Saturday, collided with another vehicle under the Bethel Valley Road overpass, the bike subsequently veered off the roadway, as WATE.com notes, a scene which ultimately led to the rider's immediate death upon law enforcement's arrival at the site of the crash.
In a statement obtained by WBIR, Oak Ridge Police Department confirmed that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The aftermath of the incident drew a coordinated response with the Oak Ridge Fire Department, Anderson County Emergency Medical Service rushing to aid, and the Oak Ridge Public Works Department joining to tackle the scene cleanup.
