A high-speed chase unfolded on the streets of Victorville this past Monday night as deputies pursued a parolee who led them on a 63-mile motorcycle pursuit. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reported that the dramatic scene began when deputies spotted a Harley Davidson that had been reported stolen out of Nevada.
Attempting to give chase, deputies soon found themselves in a pursuit that would stretch from Victorville to Yucca Valley. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Cory Ryan Brown - a transient of Victorville - refused to initially pull over, sparking the interstate incident. According to Nixle, the chase concluded when Brown was forced to eventually stop at the intersection of CA-247 and Buena Vista Dr, where he was taken into custody.
Brown, currently on parole from the California Department of Corrections, now faces charges including vehicle theft, felony reckless evading, and driving under the influence. The collective efforts of deputies from several stations, including Apple Valley, Victor Valley, Morongo Basin, and Sheriff's Aviation, were critical in bringing the pursuit to an end without incident. Brown was booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto following his arrest.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation and are asking anyone with further information about the case to step forward. Individuals with knowledge pertinent to the investigation are encouraged to contact the Victorville Police Station or Sheriff's Dispatch. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the We-Tip hotline or its website. Deputy K. Raglin was cited as the official referent in the press release issued following the incident.
