
A fatal accident claimed the life of a pedestrian in North Austin on Saturday night. Authorities were called to the 9900 block of North Lamar Boulevard near West Longspur Boulevard around 10:27 p.m. following reports of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, as per CBS Austin.
Austin-Travis County EMS attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was declared dead at the scene at 10:47 p.m. The Austin Fire Department also responded to the incident, where they provided CPR to the pedestrian, before the pronouncement. Details on whether the driver is facing any charges have not been made clear, at this point.

Further investigations are underway as the Austin Police Department looks into what caused the tragic event. The area where the event unfolded was the 10000 block of North Lamar Boulevard, confirming the proximity to the initially reported location by a FOX 7 Austin coverage of the crash.
The road was temporarily closed off between Longspur Boulevard, and, Ken Street due to the active investigation scene but was reported to have reopened afterward. The full extent of the circumstances leading up to the incident remains under investigation and updates are expected as new information comes to light.
